De Spuyt

The volleyball club "De Spuyt" is open to the competitive as well as the occasional player. The club has four lady-teams, five male-teams and an amateur group. Members are usually over the age of 25, have had a higher education and enjoy social activities.

The level of play varies from level six to regional level. Beginning players are encouraged to learn how to play competitive volleyball. The amateur group is mixed - both males and females of varying ages. After each training session, during which, different game techniques are being learned, there is always enough time for a friendly match. New members are welcome and you are invited to have a try-out. The first three sessions are free of charge. During the informal volleyball-hour on Monday nights, advanced players can join in, paying only a small contribution.

During the summer-months, de Spuyt moves to the Museum Square, where volleyball is played in the open air. De Spuyt organizes two annual mixed tournaments for their own members as well as interested parties. They also hold their famous annual Spuyt-tournament in January.
